Experimental Guitars of Aotearoa Vol. 1 - Greg Malcolm & Chris O’Connor – A Feast of Tones

Recorded live at the Audio Foundation in Auckland this release is the first documentation of the long standing duo of guitarist Greg Malcolm and drummer Chris O’Connor. Greg Malcolm has forged a remarkable and unique path as a solo artist and collaborator with the similarly distinctive voices of Jenny Ward, Stefan Neville, Eugene Chadbourne and Tetuzi Akiyama to name a few. Chris O’Connor has collaborated with Greg for over a decade as drummer in Surf/Klezmer/Rembetika band Surfin’ USSR, in duo format and numerous other ad hoc ensembles. Chris has performed with a vast number of artists from many disciplines including Steve Lacy, Don McGlashan, Phoenix Foundation, Trioglodyte and Nadia Reid.
